Theme of the Day... Hope! Dec 23, 2010

Trudy Makin Lewis 1:50pm Dec 23
We went to Jame's eye appointment. The pressure in his eye is higher today. Something that we were hoping wouldn't happen. So I'm putting it out there to keep praying for his eye pressure to come down and that it will stabilize. I'm not giving up hope!

Trudy Makin Lewis 9:14am Dec 23
It's going to be a day of hope for me. Hope that we get good report at the eye clinic and hope that we can all heal a little more. Hope that everyone knows how grateful we are. hope that it will get easier with time. Hope is my theme for the day. May all of you out there have hope today also.

Christmas wishes and Thanks from Trudy Lewis and fam!

I send out my Christmas wish to everyone out there... I wish you love and time with those you love. I wish you peace that only Christ can bring. I wish you an attitude of gratitude and a remembrance of the reason for this season. Christ is the reason. I know he lives and loves us. Merry Christmas everyone. That includes family, friends and strangers alike. Merry Christmas.
One day closer to Christmas. I actually did some Christmas shopping last night for the first time. If I could buy a gift for all the people that have been so good to us I would. I know that there is no way in this world I could repay everyone who has been so generous and loving to us at this hard time in our life. Or even send thank you notes to everyone. I hope everyone knows that we are grateful for everything!

A few thoughts...

This song is exactly how i feel! I miss them sooooo much, but the only thing that is helping me breathe in and out each minute is the comfort and understanding that I have been given from my savior. "Stay with me just until my heart recovers"

Trudy Makin Lewis Facing a terrible tragedy this holiday season, I have seen what the true meaning of giving is all about. This community has the spirit of giving and loving. It takes only one person to make a difference, imagine what we can do with a community of "one persons". Let's feed the hungry.

It's official... James Andrew gets to go home!! =)

Trudy Makin Lewis

It's really official... The release party is at 4:30 today and tomorrow we're busting out of this joint! Wooo Hooo!

(earlier today) --> James is such a trooper. He's been working hard in therapy. They have him playing games to help his brain and doing stairs on those crutches to make sure he's stable and safe to come home. We celebrated his dad's birthday by writing a message and letting a helium balloon go to take it to heaven and we watched one of his favorite musicals, " Seven Brides For Seven Brothers". It was a weepy day for us all. Today is a new day and the sunrise will bring light and good things.

Updates Dec 11-13, 2010.

(Mon- Dec 13)
So ... we're not quite ready for home so they are keeping us for at least a few more days. We were hoping that we could celebrate Papa's birthday by coming home and taking James to the cemetary for the first time, but we've got to figure something else out.

Trudy Makin Lewis Hey world out there consider yourself hugged today! It's Stu's Birthday!

(Sun- Dec 12)
It's been a sleepy day for James today. The nurses want him to stay awake and he wants to sleep. Hope he sleeps tonight! Last night was rough... he had a migrain headache. Hope tonight goes better!

For dinner last night James ate in the cafiteria down stairs. He's pretty good at manuvering corners on his own. I'd lose hands down in wheel chair races!

Friday and Saturday's Services

The services Friday and Saturday were very beautiful, a  special spirit resided at both the viewings and the funeral!
The viewings:
KaraLee & Stuart both looked amazing, so at peace, confirmation that although they had laid these mortal bodies to rest... they were in a better place, doing the Lord's work. The support and condolences of all who attended both in presence and in thought brought a great sense of Love of support, thank you all!
The funeral:
Words cannot express the beauty of the spirit which touched our hearts at this amazing service!
Words by MayLynn, Trudy, Bro. Newman, Bishops and others were so eloquently expressed through the power of the spirit. They all did a wonderful job of honoring two amazing spirits whom will be missed here on earth as they continue spreading love and the Gospel in heaven. It was simply Beautiful!!
A funeral like this, under such circumstances, would have all the rights of being a depressing, melancholic service, but I have never attended such an amazingly spiritual, hope-promoting service as this. What an amazing tribute to their (the Lewis family's) love for one another and their love for the Savior. Through their words and actions, the spirit testified to us that because of Jesus Christ's sacrifice we will all live again, and that through repentance and obedience to God's commandments we can become worthy enough to return to live in His presence, with one another. Because Our Heavenly Father loves us so much and wants all of us to return to Him, together, he gave us the gospel (found in The Book of Mormon & The Bible) here on earth that shows us the way that we can make it back to His presence, together. The Lewis family has taught us by example that the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings real hope and light into our lives, even in the darkest of times!
Thank You Lewis Family for your example of faith and hope, I pray that we can all learn from your example and be changed people forever. May we all strive to learn & live the Gospel because of your examples.

Updates on James Andrew

It's morning... Ruff night for James. He's so tired of the "torture" from doctors and nures! He's had enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His IV has had to be replaced so many times and he's hurting!
Surgery is the next hurdle this morning. Keep Praying! We are so grateful for every single prayer! We are being carried because of them!
When I asked if there was anything he wanted to say to all of you he said, "Hi!
-Trudy Lewis

Due to remnants of metal lingering within his eye, James will undergo surgery at 9:00am this morning to gently remove them. Continue your prayers. THANKS!!
